What to Bring

After years of traveling as a family, we've hit every end of the spectrum from bringing anything and everything out of fear of missing something, to keeping our prep very minimal. After lots of trial and error we've found the perfect balance, which I'll share with you today.

Consistent with the rest of this guide, this list is specific to taking a road trip with a baby, not a toddler, or for flight travel.

For Feeds:

If you're breastfeeding...

  • Pump of choice (if pumping at all)
  • I've used THIS hand held pump, and my Elvie Pump
  • Cooler bag (We use THIS one)
  • Portable bottle warmer (THIS one)
  • Burp cloths

If you're bottle feeding (breastmilk)...

  • Bottles
  • Cooler bag filled with breastmilk (THIS one)
  • Portable bottle warmer (THIS one)
  • Pump of choice

If you're bottle feeding (formula)...

For Diaper Changes:

  • Diapers (always bring extra)
  • Wipes
  • Portable changing pad (we use THIS one)
  • Diaper rash cream
  • Disposable diaper bags (we use THESE)
