Doing Happy Things


I don't know about you, but I'm not a naturally "happy" person. I can become negative and down very easily, which means I have to be extremely intentional about finding joy, thinking positively, and doing things I enjoy in order to stay positive and upbeat.


For the past 6-7 weeks I've been struggling quite a bit more with this, and something I've been doing over the past week to help is finding at least one thing to do every day that I genuinely enjoy. Not something I have to do, not something on my to-do list. Something that is purely for my enjoyment!


Here are a few things I've done over the past week that have brought me happiness:


  1. Watched two episodes of One Upon A Time on Disney+
  2. Potted flowers 🌸
  3. Written a personal blog post
  4. Gone for a walk with Beckley
  5. Trying a new pasta dish


If you find yourself struggling to find the "happy" in yourself, know you aren't alone. It's normal to struggle with your emotions, I'm right there with you. Try every day to find something to do that you enjoy. We've got this!
